A total of 24 Scout Leaders from Five Dzongkhags attended Advanced Course (Wood Badge Training) has been conducted from 30th March, 2019 to 6th April 2019 at Lam Pelri Botanical Garden, Punakha. The Training is also being celebrated as part of 100 years of Wood Badge Training for Leaders that was first time initiated in 1919 in Gilwell Park in the UK by the Founder Lord Baden Powell.
The Scout Leaders will be issued Centennial Wood Badge Certificate and Scarf as a symbol of Warrant issued for their successful completion of a Week long intensive Wood Badge training organized by the Bhutan Scouts Association. In pursuit of promotion and strengthening of Scouting program in Bhutan, Wood Badge Training in all Four Regions will be conducted within April 2019 ensuring all active and deserving Scout Leaders from across the country has a chance to upgrade and enhance their capacity in scouting field and deliver a quality program to our youth in schools and community.
Similar training will be offered to all interested volunteer Leaders who have registered with BSA as Community Based Scouts in their locality.
